The Backstory

Once upon a time, there was a young boy who was always watching the boundless expanse of the night sky. His world often seemed too small for his dreams, but the stars, flickering like distant beacons, held a magnetic allure. Little did he know, these celestial bodies were not just glowing specks of light in the dark, but guiding stars that would set the course of his life.

A young Hurley Frey sat under the enchanting night canvas, his eyes gleaming with reflections of distant stars, a testament to dreams waiting to be pursued.

Over time, the young boy became a man pursuing innovation and progress. His mind was always whirling with ideas, the same way the stars used to spin in his boyhood dreams. He immersed himself in business, technology, and science, continuously pushing the boundaries of human thinking. Every failure was a lesson learned, every success a step closer to the stars. Eventually, his relentless determination and unyielding spirit led him to establish Ascion, a company that embodied his dreams, striving to bring about a future once confined to his imagination.

As Ascion grew, so did his personal life. His heart was captivated not only by the celestial bodies in the sky but by an extraordinary woman who shared his dreams. Soon, they welcomed a beautiful daughter into their world, a little star who held the promise of Ascion’s future. He cherished every moment spent with his daughter, teaching her about space and technology, the same way a painter would teach his child the delicate art of capturing beauty. Every night under the starlit sky was a new lesson, a new story, his dreams for Ascion subtly intertwining with the dreams he held for his daughter.

As the young boy grew, he looked upon the Earth with a loving yet troubled gaze. He saw the beauty of their home yet could not ignore the looming ecological crises that threatened its survival. A shared anxiety stirred in the hearts of many, a realization that their beautiful blue planet may not always be able to harbour life. A collective dream began to take shape, a vision of new homes among the stars. And so, together, they gave life to ‘Arthea’ — an immense orbital space station, a testament to their resolve. Arthea would be the gateway to the cosmos, the launchpad for mankind’s journey beyond Earth, and a sanctuary, a promise of survival, should their earthly home ever become inhospitable.

Hovering serenely in the abyss of space, the colossal Arthea space station shines brilliantly against the cosmic backdrop, a beacon of mankind’s aspirations and technological prowess.

In the endless void of the cosmos, distances were measured in light-years, and conventional technology fell short. A solution was needed to allow us to reach the stars within a human lifetime without risking losing human lives on these perilous journeys. This challenge led the founder to conceive a fleet of autonomous spaceships, each under the direct control of a human being, operated remotely. These would serve as humanity’s extended eyes, ears, and hands in space, exploring the universe for us, seeking out habitable planets, and mitigating the danger posed by space travel. By placing these celestial voyages under human control, we would ensure that we maintained our connection with exploration and discovery, our curiosity and sense of wonder driving us forward into the unknown.

Time fuels change, driving progress but also carrying many challenges. The founder, restless in pursuing the next frontier, envisioned a revolutionary spacecraft, a paradigm shift in space travel. A marvel of technology, this vessel would be equipped to sustain human life indefinitely, a true home among the stars.

The day of the test flight arrived, charged with a mix of excitement and anxiety. Under the watchful eyes of billions, the spacecraft, carrying the founder himself, embarked on a brief journey to display the advanced technology. It was meant to be a momentous leap for humanity, a beacon of hope in an increasingly precarious world.

In the heart of the bustling metropolis, a vibrant celestial tapestry unfolded above, as the pioneer vessel disappeared into a mesmerizing burst of radiant energy.

Yet, the cosmos often throws curves even the most brilliant minds can’t foresee. Contact was lost, and the prototype ship disappeared from all radars and scans during the demonstration. Confusion turned into panic, hope into dread. The ambitious project turned into a catastrophe. The founder, the visionary, was gone, leaving behind a void not just in space but also in the heart of Ascion and its people.

In the wake of this event, Hurley’s daughter stepped into her destined role earlier than expected, becoming the temporary CEO of Ascion. Driven to find her father and uphold his legacy, she established three unique divisions: the Sentinel, the Tekton, and the Pathfinder, each focused on a unique aspect of the mission.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, the founder’s daughter, a strong and determined woman, rose to fill the void left by her father. Embracing her destiny as the heiress of Ascion, she took on the daunting task of steering the corporation through its darkest times. But her resolve was not merely to preserve Ascion; she aimed to fulfil her father’s dream, the shared vision of humanity thriving among the stars.

New CEO of Ascion Corporation Sophia Frey

The first step in this monumental task was resuming the search for her lost father. To help her achieve her goal she has unified the technological prowess offered by the company her father has created. The three divisions will have their role to play. 'Sentinels', a division focused on ensuring the safety and security of the ongoing operations, ‘Tektons’ dedicate themselves to building the infrastructure for a sustainable future in space, and ‘Pathfinders’, true to their name, dedicated themselves to exploration, seeking new frontiers, and finding the lost pioneer in faith, he is still alive.
